Would you say you’re the fashion God-father like Kanye West?
Fashionista always on fleek?
Or a smart dressed posh person?
FASHION! Who doesn’t love fashion? It’s something that EVERYONE has personal taste to and reflects their tastes, right?
Those that I have listed above were the ones that came straight from the top of my head, there are plenty more however I would be there all day.
It’s been really interesting in the last couple of months especially when I moved to university. Where I’m from (Canterbury, Kent) I never really saw much other than what I was used to see as in fashion. But now my eyes have opened up to more styles and different clothing that people wear. In Manchester especially it is so vibrant and you are likely to see so many different styles all in one place.
From fashion bloggers, fashionista’s, smart dress to those that don’t care, I’VE SEEN IT ALL NOW! Some say people an tell a lot about you by what you’re wearing or what kind of car you drive. But the nicest people can dress like bums and the rudest can be decked out in Balenciaga, but that doesn’t mean you should treat them with more respect than you do the one who looks like a bum. People like that feel because they wear high end clothing that they don’t have to have anything else to really add to the package.
Realistically appearances are largely deceptive when judging character. Lots of attractive and seemingly secure people have unsettled emotional issues. The outward appearance of style and primness is often only a mask. On the other hand, some of the most beautiful people(who are physically attractive and also posses great personalities) are not thrilled about make up or fancy clothes.
Fashion. It’s how we tend to express ourselves and it’s our way to show the world who we are. People can dress up, dress down, wear jeans, dresses, or any type of clothing that allows them to share their individuality. It’s obvious what things are in and out of style, but the question is: does fashion define who we are as people? Today’s society is in love with brand names (including myself, OOPS!) and whether we acknowledge it or not, we let fashion influence us, even at Matalan. The North Face, Uggs, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Abercrombie & Fitch are just some of the brands that you would see walking down the street.
For me it is now at a point where I need to start dressing as a young confident man who will soon be going into a work place, so that kind of has to influence it. If I were to wear a tracksuit to an interview would I be taken seriously? Those are some questions I ask myself now.
So, ‘Does fashion define who you are?’, fill in the poll below! 😀
